Chief investigator Clinical Professor Julie Quinlivan Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Professor Quinlivan is a leading researcher into women's and family health and was chief investigator of the Australia Fathers Study. She has published nearly 300 conference presentations, publications, book chapters and books covering all aspects of women's and family health. She has held numerous senior roles in the medical profession including Executive Dean of Medicine, Chair of the WA Clinical Senate and Chair of the RANZCOG ACT Committee. Co-Investigators Dr Rodney Petersen CSC Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Petersen is also a chief investigator of the Australian Fathers Study and has held senior roles in the profession including Director of Medical Services in Women's and Children's Health. He has also undertaken humanitarian work with the Australian military and played a leadership role in military workforce classification. He was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross in the 2024 Australia Day honours. Dr Nicola Yuen Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Yuen is the Clinical Director of Women’s and Children’s Division at Bendigo Health as well as being the Head of Unit (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) and the Regional Obstetrician for the Loddon Mallee Region. She was recently the Clinical Lead for the Maternity and Newborn Centre of Clinical Excellence at Safer Care Victoria. Nicola has a background in Clinical Governance, initially as a Fellow at RWH then as Clinical Lead for SCV projects to improve care for women and babies. Along with her (little bit of) clinical work Nicola has a busy life juggling family time and enjoying regional living! Dr Adele Lourensz Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Lourensz is a registrar working in obstetrics and gynaecology at Bendigo Health. Adele grew up on her family farm, has first-hand experience in understanding some of the ways rural living impacts access to healthcare, and is passionate about optimising care to our rural families. When not working, Adele loves getting outside and walking her two dogs, visiting her family with an ever-growing list of nieces and nephews, and weeding her garden. Dr Aimee Waegele Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Waegele is an Obstetrics and Gynecology registrar and will be contributing to this exciting study as a researcher. She has worked in regional and rural communities for her entire medical career and is passionate about achieving positive outcomes and change for women living in our community. She am a mother of two young children born and raised in Bendigo and feels she can relate well to the challenges for new parents when navigating our health system Dr Emma Adams Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Adams is a junior doctor working at Bendigo Health in the Obstetric and Gynaecology department, who along with her partner and groodle love calling the Bendigo region home. Dr Yong Shi Zhang Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Zhang is a newcomer to Bendigo working as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar. After living and working in the Far North Queensland tropics and the ‘Bush Capital’ of Canberra she hopes to bring her experience to a fantastic project that will benefit the families of the Loddon Mallee region. In her spare time you will find her exploring the local food scene or looking for inspiration to decorate her new home in Bendigo. Dr Jemma Billinghurst Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Dr Billinghurst is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology registrar working at Bendigo Health. She grew up in Melbourne, but became passionate about rural and regional health care after several years in rural Victoria as a medical student. When not at work, Jemma loves hanging out with her two cats, playing board games, reading and painting. |
