Bendigo family study investigators Professor Julie Quinlivan and Associate Professor Rodney Petersen attended the 75th annual scientific meeting of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ACOG) in Washington DC this month. The keynote speaker was former First Lady Michelle Obama who spoke on her life and facing challenges. The conference held a reception in the Library of Congress where an exhibition on George Washington was open.

The conference focussed on the three streams of
* menopause,
* psychosocial aspects of women's health and
* pregnancy emergency care.

We were pleased to see the focus on the psychological and social aspects of women's and family health taken by ACOG and the US research mirrored our Bendigo family study research.

We have now submitted further research abstracts from our study to the Asia Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology conference to be held later this year run Sydney.

Recruitment and collection of research outcomes for the Bendigo Family Study is now advanced.  Recruitment will cease soon having achieved our research targets.
